Jane Watever

I've not much to update lately...
Been so busy with my accessories designs and I had forgotten to update my blog.
Here's another image of Jane.
the huge head is what I have spent time amended using photobucket online.
I do love the college and pop art version of Jane but I still need to do it in a brighter version.

Thinking about what should I do with Jane since our "Watever" culture should be "slumber and happy" mood!

I was thinking of creating some more images of Jane in different races and nationality first.

There'll be updates soon!

stay with me!

Improvising Jane

I've so busy lately and forgot about updating Jane in this blog until a friend called on Saturday and reminded me.

p.s. Thanks so much for interested in Jane, and also your mental support... Phoena dear, I'll work harder!

My partner, Intan also totally tied up with her work lately and we have not been meeting up working on Jane after I came back from China.
Well, here a pix of Jane which i tried to improve from a simple sketch using Photobucket.
I tried to correct and clean up the lines and added colors to make her look prettier.
Still, a dummy as I am, my work is slow!

Then I spent about a couple of hours in front of my laptop and here's how Jane looked like after I cleaned her up.
I love her eyes and hairstyle.Well, she now can have Watever color of hair, eyes and lip... even skin tone!
I'm loving it!!!!
We have talked about making Jane in all different races and even an alien!
Should Jane have a body?
How about having a pet?
Would her body be slim or sexy or....
well we still need a lot of work on all these!

... to be continue!

Headgear work in progress Part VII - Final

This is gonna be the last step of making this headgear.
I've finally went to collect the veil and now i'll attach it on to the back of the headgear.
Insert thick hard wires on to the stiched hem of the veil then attached at the back of the second layer of the headgear.

Now to decorate the rim, I sew on 6mm Clear multi color coated Swarovski crystal bicone shape beads around the rim.... width between each bead is about 1 inches.
it only took me awhile to finish this process.

Now to add on Swarovski crystal glue on diamente, also using multi color coated ones so that it would have more glitters.

The headgear is heavier after I attached the veil and wire... Now to make it more stable on the wearer's head, I have to attach 2 strapes at the bottom part of the hair bun.
The wearer can tie the strapes around her face so it won't fall off.

I 1st sew the tips of the strapes tightly together, the using soft artistic wire to fasten it at the bottom of the hair bun.
One at the left, the other one at the right.

There! Now it's finally done.
I tried it on... well after I tied the strapes it is secure on the head!
OK, project finally COMPLETED!
Here, take a look at the final product...

Now I need to find a box to store this headgear before I deliver it to my client.
And also to prepare the bill :>
If you have followed the making of this headgear...what do you think?
It's actually not hard to make but just needs to be patient and time to do it.
Willing to try out and make one?
If you do, please do show me some pix...

A compilation of ANNA SUI spring09 Ready to wear necklace collection

I browsed through Anna Sui's Spring 09 Ready to Wear fashion show and was really inspired by her use of colors, mood and fabrics.
She presented 58 sets of looks.
Models all in shinny smiles and sweet natural make up and hair all center partings... some even has ribbons on her hair...
Most of the collections are in short dresses and skirts, colorful and fully accessorized with beaded necklaces, memory wired arm bands, bangles...
Her shoes are also very interesting, with a wide range of boots, sandals, heeled sandals etc...
Not forgetting her handbags collections also full of colors and embroideries.

Here I compiled photos of her beaded necklace collections.
Enjoy!

Bad week...

This is really a bad week...
I am so down...
Last Saturday morning... received a sad news from my friend Megan... her dad passed away while having his breakfast in a coffee shop
Life is so short...
According to my friend, Megan's dad was still OK and drove to have his breakfast in the morning and never came home!
Then the next morning about 4am... My silver Arrowana fish, Rowana whose been with me for more than eight years died...
I was so sad, and I have no place to bury my fish since I'm staying in an apartment....
We took Rowana out of the aquarium, wrap her in a few plastic bags and thick brown paper and buried her outside Jessie's dad's house.
Then we celebrated uncle Albert's birthday... on the same day I buried my Rowana!
On Tuesday morning, we hired some guys to move away Rowana's aquarium...
I was trying to get out of my apartment to help the men hold the lift...
I didn't notice that the mover had placed the extended light board made of stainless steel right at the corner of my grill and i accidentally kicked it...
That's how I hurt my right leg... the cut is consider deep and I can slightly see my bone!
My leg was numb and bleeding a lot...a lot!
Now it's swells and hurt like hell...
I can't walk properly, I can't sit placing my leg down coz it hurts...
I'm so bad mood and I can't do my work...
I can't concentrate and I'm limping right now..
.....really bad luck this week....

Beadwork

Wandering why I love bead work...

Well, I do love to create things from scratch...

E.g. with all the parts, hooks, jump rings, eye pins etc...( all are accessories beading findings) combine with different shapes, sizes, color and material of beads e.g. oval, hexagon.. then join them together using different bead work techniques e.g. knotting, pin work, stringing, wire work etc... and Walla... it becomes a necklace, bracelet, earrings, ankles even a tiara or beaded vest and can be a gown...
Most friends who knows me well thinks I'm a bit crazy and love to challenge myself a lot...
Love to do difficult designs and trying out new things.
But for me, it's self satisfaction... that's why I'll feel quite bored if I have to repeat designs.
Lately I just joined MOD, I'm gonna design their in-house fashion jeweleries for their outlets.
That's the reason why I went to Guangzhou to source for parts.
Just presented my 1st batch of designs to them last week...
Well I really don't know what they really think of my designs but from I do give myself a 80%
Gonna present another 10 designs again in another 10 days...
I still have my 'guan yin' headgear to finished up and
Gotta work hard now!
and I hope my designs will get good respond from the customers.
