Alexander McQueen Fall 2013 (RTW) - Intro & The Collection

Alexander McQueen Fall 2013 RTW Collection has only 10 looks (in black and whites) in 5 pairs this season since the designer Sarah Burton was heavily pregnant at that time while working on this collection,   she still did a great job and congratulations for her new twin baby girls.

Sadly while I browsed around blogs and reports, I came across some articles which have reported about this runway show that claimed the house is "one trick pony" since Alexander passed. Well, I personally do not agree.  To me, Alexander McQueen is a British brand and is strongly adapted to their culture & country, very proud of their historical influence therefore love to express this passion through fashion and Sarah is perfectly capable of continuing the late Alexander's legacy with a feminine touch.

Alexander McQueen Fall 2012 RTW (part 1)

Alexander McQueen's Fall 2012 Ready to Wear Collection by Sarah Burton is Magical!!!...
The combinations of  different  hard & soft fabrics, leather and furs e.g. goat fur, ostrich feather or Mongolian lamb and fur pom poms... Some pieces are crafted and decorated with light weight fabrics  that sew into  countless pieces/layers of anemones, delicate dandelions like flowers finishes the whole collection.  The colors are story board... from pure white to purple, then matures into black and finale red... Bravo to the magnificent craftsmanship of McQueen workshop and brilliant ideas of Sarah Burton.. This collection is another success!

In this collection, There are no suits or clutch bags, but as I am always dying to see are their shoes and fashion accessories...Heelless boots, floral high heels and metal necklace and belts with 3D flower...how creative.

Alexander McQueen Spring 2012 RTW part ii - the collection

I have been a true fan of Sarah Burton's work since I saw her first collection for Alexander McQueen. She "Wow" me again with her Spring 2012 Ready to Wear collections.  I wanna say "I love the entire collection!!!" Yes, every piece of them, plus all the accessories... it's 3000% magnificent!!!!

"This is a collection about excess," said Sarah Burton, McQueen's creative director, before the show. "It's an exploration of ideals of beauty at their most extreme. We go to such lengths to adorn ourselves that we almost become our clothes or are taken over by them."

I personally think that this collection is more couture than ready to wear line - I read about  that all 34 outfits are made in UK and France, all hand sew - some by Sarah herself.  The collection includes the empire waist line,  ruffles, pleatings and draping techniques,  exquisite beading, the bold colors and the selections of different fabrics in each and every outfits.  They are just PERFECT!!!

Here are my selections of some of the strongest pieces which I adore most...although I love them all but I'm sure you'll agree with me.

Alexander McQueen Spring 2012 RTW (part i - Beauty)

Alexander McQueen Spring 2012 Ready to wear fashion show was held on 5th, October 2012 in Paris.  This is one of the most magnificent fashion show of the season that I won't miss to feature here.

The designer Sarah Burton presented the collection with edginess and a touch of femininity.  I love the whole collection, plus the way they styled the models - they looked like goddess form another world!

Now let's take a look at the make up, hair do and hair accessories.  You'll love the translucent make up, tidy hair style and the most creative veil, in different designs.

I can't wait to feature the following "artistic creations" of Sarah Burton for Alexander MacQueen's Fall Ready to Wear 2011 collections.

More detailing applied on to the following gowns, you can imagine how much handwork been spent on each piece.  I personally have zoomed in and out  several times admiring those wonderful intricate finishing touch.
Seeing is believing, let's take a look at the gowns:

There are a few long dresses on this runway and the ones which I am crazy of is the last two.

A must see - Alexander MacQueen Fall RTW 2011 Collection part1

I always anxious to view a selected designers' newest collections and Alexander MacQueen is definitely the one on my top list.  Sarah Burton took over as the chief designer after the late genius passed and this is the second time she show off her talent, I think she is the right person for this job and the brand - bringing forward the essences of the late MacQueen but with her own  style & a feminine touch.  Bravo!!

Browse through style.com of the brand's Fall Ready to Wear 2011 collection as usual has so much to see:
Pale ice queen make up,silver/black pins hairdo, two tones nail color...
Every piece of the collection has so many details - front and back, top til bottom.  Cleverly playing around with mixtures of soft and hard fabrics, furs, feathers, leathers etc...Yes! I meant not only applied on clothes but also in their jewelry, accessories and footwear.
The color palettes are whites, blacks, greys, lilacs, metallic or mixed of the mentioned colors; not forgetting to mention the variety of finishing touches with zippers, leather trims, fur trimmed hems etc...
There are 2 breathtaking gowns which I can't take my eyes off are a corset tube top dress decorated with broken china and a black Gothic  long dress... which will be featuring on my next post.

Here's a video review of the runway show:
