Korean barbecue dinner @ Desa Sri Hartamas

Been so busy travelling and working lately... so a day after I return from Guangzhou, we went to try out Korean food at desa sri hartamas. We normally have Korean food at Starhill food center,
the food is great there but a bit more expensive than other Korean restaurant.
Don restaurant is just next to Ile Divo Italian restaurant (one of my fav Italian restaurant)

The interior of the restaurant is cozy and comfortable... we sat at the platform!

For a start, they served kim chi salad and few other small cold dishes...fish cake, "ikan bilis" and spinach cold dish... Kim chi, mix salad...and Korean vegetable soup... (korean version of Miso soup) on the house!
Here comes our marinated spare rip, smells so good on the grill and Jessie ordered steam rice to go with it.
Here's my all time favorite "ginseng" chicken soup.. there's starch rice inside the chicken cooked with some herbs...And stir fried spicy stir fried beef...
not forgetting huge marinated tiger prawn on the grill...For desert, they served us watermelon and honey dew slices.

The food is delicious... we managed to finished all... believe it or not!

We ordered Korean tea to go with the food and I had a great time there coz it's quiet and comfortable... well not much crowd on a Thursday night.

The bill.... RM150.

I definitely will go back again!

Day 4, 1st Sept,2008.
We packed up everything and checked out the hotel.
Before we travel to Jiang Men, we went shopping again...
I had beef noodle for breakfast again:

We had Kentucky Fried Chicken for lunch...
The KFC there is tasty.. Me and Yee Peng shared fried chicken drum sticks and we had barbecue chicken stick... yumm
We travel to Jiang Men about 6pm and reached there one and a half hour later due to traffic jam.
After checking into a hotel, we went for dinner...
Our 1st dish is steam prawn ( huge size ) that dip with the sauce...
The prawn is fat and covered with eggs...

Next dish is clay pot beef and dried vege...
Big fat juicy roasted duck and
Stir fried vegetable...
After dinner we went for a ride around Jiang Men.
The air is cool and fresh... an opposite with Guangzhou city..
We went visit a barbecue garden and fish feeding ground before we go for desert...
Here's the famous "Xuang Pi Nai"
Steam Milk that is soft and melt in the mouth...
I really don't know how to explain the taste but I have never tasted steam milk and egg that is so silky smooth in Malaysia.
Kui lan ordered red beans "xuang pi nai"

Ah Kuang ordered a plain "xuang Pi nai" and

I ordered ginger and almond flavor xuang pi nai... yummmm

Food recap of Guangzhou trip - day 3 dinner

On day 3, 31st Aug - dinner we had Shi Chuan food.
Although there's almost a packed restaurant but we don't have to wait long for our dishes.
This is the soup, has tomatoes, meat, eggs & etc...
Since Shi chuan food is famously known to be spicy, we had it with a light Chinese beer.
Stir fried chicken slices with green chilis and onions,
Stir fried pork slices with fresh chili and spring onions,
This is my fav dish, deep fried chicken slices then stir fried again with dried chilies...
Fish slices with Chinese herbs
Stir fried long beans and dried chili.
After dinner, we dropped by a little street.

I notice their dentist is actually very visible to passersby...

We are leaving Guangzhou city and traveled to Jiang Men - a smaller city or about an hour drive away from Guangzhou city on day 4.

to be continue...

Food recap of Guangzhou trip - day 2 & 3 breakfast

Ah... Day 2 in Guangzhou... 30th Aug, 2008.
We went to a food stall about few shoplots beside our hotel...
I had beef and thin rice noodle for breakfast...
Funny the stall did not sell any hot drinks at all so I missed my morning coffee!

Lunch was in a sort of "7 eleven" shop at the wholesale mall,
Just something to fill up our stomach, the price about RMB16 - expensive!
Me had instant pork chop and coffee.
The taste... 5 out of 10 points...

and Yee peng had chicken chop with coffee!
I did not take any photos of my dinner, may be because I was terribly hungry and totally forgot about taking photos of what I ate for dinner. We had dinner in a fast food chain store... I ordered Hainaness chicken rice set, comes with steam chicken parts, buttered rice, pickles and soup... delicious!

Day 3, 31st Aug - wake up early in the morning around 6am we had breakfast at "Yong Snake village" This restaurant serves Dim sum breakfast and also selling live snakes if you fancy snake porridge or other type of snake dishes. Most of the customers are senior citizens, and the restaurant is almost packed..

Here's what we had for breakfast:

Steam "fu chok" roll: Steam beef balls,
Mmmm.. think this is steam vegetable dumplings,
This is delicious, steam pork and garlic dumplings
Fried "lopak"cake...
Fried noodles... ( huge portions) "yao char guai"
'Har Kao" means steam prawn dumplings,
and steam pork ribs,
Mmmm... Kui Lan is enjoying her Dim Sum and Chinese tea.
to be continue.... lunch and dinner day 3.
