Jewelry Spring 2013 Tom Binns

Tom Binns is one of the jewelry designer that I really look up to, his design is edgy and certainly will make statements.  He is always very clever in his choices of colour and material used for his jewelries.  Tom Binns Spring 2013 collection some are inspired by the Maasai Tribe with lots of beautiful colors but in a whole new modern twist... I love the ones with turquoise & gold, and those chunky multi strands of pearls.

I love oversize, chunky, extraordinary, glamorous and unique jewelries. I'm the biggest fan of Erickson Beamon, love their mixture of material, gems, beads, hardware and details.   Each individual piece of their work is consider fine arts to me.

Purple Glass Beads Necklace & Earrings

I have been taking a long break from this blog since June... Having sometime to visit dad, do relax & gather myself -  time flies and it's seems 2012 goes by in a blink...  I think it's time to post again. Since I love jewelry and I love designing jewelry...  Sharing is my main purpose to start this blog since 2008 - and I'll keep on posting whenever I have new creations and thoughts to share... I love vintage jewelry, especially Victorian... they are so elegant and timeless... This reminds me of a set of jewelry I crafted.  It's a deep purple faceted glass beads with gunmetal that looked vintage to me.

Purple Ribbon Flowers with faceted Glass Beads Necklace & Earrings (NKERs014)

People who loves crafts must have a lot of "left-overs" materials from previous projects... As I was  digging in my ribbon box, I came across some "left-over" purplish pink ribbon roses -  It's time to create something new... Is it working? May b not for everyone  :)

Here's what I did, mixing those ribbon roses with faceted glass beads in a "feminine" necklace with a pair of matching earrings.

Jewelry Fall 2012 - Erickson Beamon

 I am a huge fan of Erickson Beamon, famous of their boho-luxe designs and I wouldn't miss

a chance to feature their latest creation.

For their Fall 2012 collection, I spotted some amazingly beautiful jewelry from the genius duo... Here are my most favorite pieces.

The family jewels necklace, the gold cuff & the black earrings are stunning!

Earth Tones Glass Pearls with Gunmetal Chains Necklace (NK021)

As much as I love to use crystals, glass beads and semi precious stones in my jewelry,  I now started to appreciate pearls... no matter it's cultured pearls, shell pearls, mother of pearls etc..., it has a special glossy coating that no other beads has... Elegant and unique.

Always trying to modernize pearls so that it doesn't have that matronly feel... This time, I selected earth tones glass pearls and paired with  rose gold metal tubes, gunmetal & black footage chains to assembly this what I called an unsymmetrical necklace.

Mother of Pearl Flower Pendants Necklace, Bracelet & Earrings (NK,ER, BR027)

Mother of Pearls are from sea shells, there are many shapes, colors, textures and tones with a pearl glow that makes it unique.

There's a pile of Ivory color Mother of Pearl flower pendant sitting in the storage box, it's time to make them useful...

Pairing with some metal charms and connectors, I've created a 4 layers dangling necklace and a pair of matching earrings.
