I fell in love with Mawi's collection immediately few years ago, after seeing her magnificent collections spread in London fashion week's report. Since then I have always anxious to see her next creations.
Mawi Keivom, an Indian-born designer started her namesake accessories line in 2003 after starting out in women"s wear at Isaac Mizrahi in New York. Growing up in Kenya, Saudi Arabia, and New Zealand among others, Mawi credits her nomadic childhood as a defining influence on her aesthetic, “It made me see the world from a different perspective, this exposure obviously translates into my work”, she says. “There’s always a collision of cultures and underlying influences that you can’t pinpoint.” She’s right – jade tusks, jewelled insects, molten skulls, sharp metal spikes, and angled geometric shapes all form part of her collections.
Her designs are contemporary style with traditional influences, mixing the old and new, wisely selected materials and each piece is surely a statement piece. What I really love about her designs is the originality of each piece, different and can immediately recognizable... How awesome!

really love this post about Mawi! Her design is really one of a kind, that you can clearly see how her upbringings influence her design... all her pieces are out of the world and we won't be able to find something similar elsewhere!
